Evaluation Process

1. Preliminary Review and Similarity Check: Each submitted work is reviewed by the editor for compliance with the publication principles, academic writing standards, and citation style. At this stage, an iThenticate similarity check is performed, and the similarity index is expected to be below 20%. The preliminary review is completed within a maximum of 7 days.

2. Section Editor Review: Works that pass the preliminary review and similarity check are evaluated by the relevant section editor in terms of academic coherence, conceptual clarity, and scholarly style. This process is also completed within a maximum of 7 days.

3. Peer Review (Academic Evaluation): Works receiving a positive opinion from the section editor are sent to at least two reviewers who have authored a doctoral thesis, book, or peer-reviewed journal articles in the relevant field. Original works are evaluated according to the double-blind peer review principle. Theses and second scientific editions of previously published works are reviewed using the single-blind peer review method. Reviewers are asked to justify their opinions with comments provided either directly on the manuscript or via the system, in no fewer than 150 words. Authors have the right to appeal the reviewers’ opinions and defend their views. The section editor facilitates communication between the author and reviewers while maintaining confidentiality. If both reviewers give positive recommendations, the work is submitted to the Editorial Board. If one reviewer issues a negative report, the work is sent to a third reviewer. At least two positive reviewer reports are required for publication. Translations are evaluated by subject experts and language editors for fidelity to the original text, conceptual consistency, and academic Turkish. Translations receiving negative evaluations are not published. The peer review process takes a maximum of 30 days.

4. Revision Stage: Works requiring corrections as requested by the reviewers are returned to the author, who must make the necessary revisions within a maximum of 10 days. The author submits the revised manuscript with changes marked in red.

5. Editor and Reviewer Check: The section editor verifies within 5 days whether the author has made the required revisions. The reviewer who requested the changes then performs the final check within 7 days.

6. Detailed Summary and Extended Abstract:
In addition to the short abstract, every work accepted for publication must include an extended English abstract, approximately 10% of the work’s length.

7. Language Review: The Turkish Language Editor conducts the review within a maximum of 15 days. Manuscripts approved in Turkish are then reviewed by the English Language Editor, whose review is also completed within 15 days.

8. Editorial Board Evaluation: All works that have successfully completed the scientific and technical processes are submitted to the Editorial Board for final evaluation. In case of differing opinions, decisions are made by majority vote.

9. Typesetting and Layout: Accepted works are typeset and formatted to be publication-ready.

10. Open Access and Index Notification: Metadata of published works are submitted within 60 days to relevant national and international open access libraries, indexes, and reference systems.
